Summer and stuff.

Fri Jun 19, 2009, 2:00 AM
So summer is finally here. Days spent in the lake with 'my kids'. They're not mine exactly,. but I have grown rather fond of my roomies kids. They call me Auntie Jet, and their mother calls me darling sometimes because she sees more than she sees her husband lol.

This is the first summer that I have actually enjoyed in a long time. No allergies here (except the freakin mosquitos), no more looking like I've been crying for a week! We seem to have an abundance of Fluff trees. There's always fluff floating about in the air, and when its windy it looks like a snowstorm.

I have been here for 9 months now, and they have been a very happy 9 months. I thought I'd be a little homesick by now, but I'm not at all. I've found home. But whether the powers that be let me stay or not is another matter entirely... But it's also time to start taking control of my life. I can't stay in this permanent limbo all my life. So, I'm badgering Guy into introducing me to the woman who runs a local sign company so that she might teach me the trade. They have a good business relationship and she did take a liking to me the one time we met (she thought I was his wife, haha!). So fingers crossed that I might be able to learn a trade that can use my talents!

Alot happening this month too, we have the Stampede next weekend, for which Guy has been dangling VIP tickets under my nose... Must charge the camera battery for that! Time to wave some more photos under Mothers nose to lure her over here. She is so sorely tempted, but I think I'll have to produce a grandchild before she'll finally bite the bullet and come to live here too. If only it were so easy...

I'm thinking I'm going to have to learn to take photos of lightning. We've had some terrific light shows over the last few days. Probably have more chance of catching lightning on film than those camera shy eagles!

Morning Jet and thanks for the East Loch Lomond fav. Does that awaken memories?

Now that is a shame, and it is not that far from Dunfermline either.

Fraid not, I've never been there. We skirted that bit of Scotland on my Dad's 'Tour de Scotland'.

We went from Dunfermline (where we're from) to Pitlochrie, stayed overnight there, then drove to Loch Ness the next day, stopped at Drumnadrochit (sp) to see the exhibition. Then carried on all the way round Loch Ness, through Fort William then back home all in one day. He doesn't like to linger, so I never really got to see much lol.

I've also been to erm... Craig Tara, I think, Haven resort near Ayr? Not sure on the name, but that was a nice place too with baby lobsters in the rock pools hehe.

Hey, your Dad did not hang around did he, that is some hike in one day.

Craig Tara is the right name, just looked it up in the net.

If ya ever come back you have some sightseeing to do, that's for sure.
